Why we are named Christian Believers Church?

The Christian Believers Church takes its name from the foundational elements of our faith as depicted in the Holy Scriptures. In the New Testament, the followers of Jesus Christ are referred to as both "Christians" and "believers," reflecting the core of our identity in Christ. The term "Christian" was first used in Antioch to describe the disciples of Jesus, as recorded in Acts 11:26: "And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch." This term signifies our direct association with Christ, embodying our commitment to follow His teachings and life.

The word "believers" is equally significant in our church's name, representing the faith and conviction of those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Throughout the New Testament, the early followers of Christ were often referred to as "believers," signifying their faith in Jesus. For example, Acts 5:14 states, "And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women," highlighting the growing community of faith grounded in the belief in Jesus Christ.

By naming our church the Christian Believers Church, we affirm our dedication to the principles and teachings of Jesus Christ, honoring the historical roots of our faith as outlined in the Scriptures. Our name is a declaration of our identity and mission, uniting us as a community of faith in Jesus Christ and emphasizing our commitment to living out the beliefs and values that define us as Christians and believers. We embrace this dual heritage as a cornerstone of our spiritual journey, inviting all who seek to know and follow Christ to join us in fellowship and worship.

What We Believe

Our faith is grounded in the belief in one eternal and holy God, who exists as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We hold the Bible as God's inspired Word, guiding us towards a fulfilling and peaceful life as intended by God. Baptism by water is a vital act, symbolizing our personal commitment to Jesus Christ. We embrace the Holy Spirit's gifts, visible in our lives and actions. The teaching of God's Word is crucial, fostering growth and change within us. We uphold the family as humanity's core unit, with marriage between a man and a woman as a lifelong bond. Prayer, both personal and collective, is essential for discerning and following God's direction.

Salvation

Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a sinless life and sacrificed Himself on the cross to atone for our sins. God resurrected Him, and now, through grace, offers eternal life as a free gift to all who accept Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. This is why salvation is found solely in Christ.

Baptism

We uphold Water Baptism, which involves immersion in water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It symbolizes an external declaration of an internal commitment to Jesus Christ, reflecting our faith in the crucified, buried, and resurrected Savior and signifying our rebirth into a new life free from sin.

The Bible

The Holy Bible is our foundational truth, inspired by God and conveyed through human authors. It serves to instruct, guide, correct, and nurture God's people, standing as the eternal standard of truth (2 Timothy 3:16).

Prayer

Prayer is a vital communication channel with God, allowing believers to speak with and listen to Him. It is essential for spiritual growth and maturity, providing both a way to express our needs and receive guidance from the Holy Spirit.

Commitment

We are dedicated to spiritual growth and development through the Holy Spirit’s transformative power, committing to a journey of becoming more Christ-like in our daily lives.

Christ-like Character

The character of Christ, exemplified by love, humility, faithfulness, patience, grace, forgiveness, kindness, peace, diligence, and self-control, should be manifest and actively expressed in our daily conduct.

Unity

Our goal is to foster a united community of believers working collaboratively to fulfill God's purposes, combating division and striving for unity in faith.

Service

Inspired by Christ’s example of love and selflessness, we are committed to serving others, emulating His servant-hearted approach to life and ministry.
